Makes 1 cup
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- ¼ cup water
- Optional: a pinch of cinnamon
- Put apples and water in a saucepan.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft.
- Drain water. Transfer apples to a bowl (so that the cookware doesn’t get scratched) and mash with a fork. If a less chunky consistency is desired, put apples on a plate and mash with the bottom of a cup. If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon.
