Makes 1 cup

  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • ¼  cup water
  • Optional: a pinch of cinnamon

  1. Put apples and water in a saucepan.
  2. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft.
  3. Drain water. Transfer apples to a bowl (so that the cookware doesn’t get scratched) and mash with a fork.  If a less chunky consistency is desired, put apples on a plate and mash with the bottom of a cup.  If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon.
