The Staff Achievement Awards honor outstanding performance by EVMS and EVMS Medical Group legacy staff and will be presented at the 2024 EVMS Legacy Faculty & Staff Awards Ceremony.

Procedure

The awards are presented in six categories; find descriptions of each award below. When you are ready, fill out the Staff Award Nomination Form. Be sure to have all of your required documentation accessible before beginning the nomination process. You will receive a confirmation email once complete.

Documentation

The nominator provides the nominee's name, title, department and supervisor's contact information as well as documentation including:

Required:

  • description of how the nominee fits the award criteria and why the individual is deserving of the award
  • specific examples of how the nominee has gone above and beyond their normal job duties

Discretionary:

  • up to two one-page letters from colleagues, peers or others in support of the nomination

While years of service are valued, a successful nomination must include clear examples reflecting how the individual's accomplishments match award criteria. Please cite specific instances of merit above and beyond normal work duties, especially those that are pertinent to the award category.

Resubmission

If you submitted a nomination last year which was not selected for an award, you can resubmit for one additional cycle - the exception being the Rising Star Award, which requires a new submission. We encourage resubmitting worthwhile nominations as long as they meet the current criteria and describe what the nominee has done over the past 12 months.

Deadline

Nominations are being accepted through Monday, September 9, 2024. Nominations will NOT be accepted after this date.
