James F. Lind, Jr. joined Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1983, was selected as the Chief Operating Officer of EVMS Medical Group in 1989 and promoted to EVMS Medical Group Chief Executive Officer in 1992.
Mr. Lind received a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he also completed post-graduate work in educational psychology. Mr. Lind holds a Master's of Business Administration from Old Dominion University. He has received the Dean’s Faculty Award for Achievement in Institutional Services for his achievements at EVMS Medical Group.
EVMS Medical Group is a not-for-profit physician group supporting EVMS with more than 150 physicians specializing in family and internal medicine, obstetrics, medical and surgical specialties, as well as radiation oncology, laboratory and pathology services. Today, EVMS Medical Group physicians treat more than 400,000 patients annually in 50 offices throughout Norfolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.
