The HP slider with text piece of content allows you to add multiple images or videos and accompanying text. It looks similar to a piece of general content, but there are buttons that allow users to slide to the next image or video.
To add an HP slider with text to a page, fill out the following fields:
Name: Name the piece of content. This will help you recognize the piece of content in TerminalFour. The name of the piece of content will not show up on the website.
Title: Give the piece of content a title. This will show up on the website.
Description: Enter the text you'd like to see on the website here. While adding or editing page content, you'll notice a toolbar above the main body field. This is the text editor.
You can use this to format text (adjust alignment, bold or italicize a word, add headings to a webpage), add an image from the Media Library, add internal or external links and more. Learn more about formatting and the text editor.
Content moderators must keep accessibility in mind when formatting page content. Accessibility is "actively designing, developing and creating content in such a way that it does not hinder any person from interacting with the website" (Source: Web Access Initiative). As an educational institution, EVMS is required by federal law to adhere to accessibility standards. As a content moderator, you are responsible for helping keep EVMS.edu, myPortal and any web apps that are used by EVMS audiences accessible.

Background color: You have the option to add a background color to the piece of content. This shows up behind the text and is a gradient of either light blue or khaki. You can also choose white or leave this field blank to leave the background white.
Slider position: Use this to specify what side of the page the piece of media (image or video) should appear on.
Button - internal link: Add a section or content link to another page or piece of content on the EVMS website. This link will appear as a button.
The Add section link button allows you to link to another page. Clicking this button will open the site structure. Find the section you wish to link to and click it to add the link.
The Add content link button allows you to link directly to a piece of content. Clicking this button will also open the site structure. Find the section where the piece of content you wish to link to is located and click the section name to open a list of content within that section. Click the piece of content to add the link.
Button - external link: Paste the external URL into this field to add a link to a page outside of the EVMS website. This link will appear as a button.
Button - media link: Add a link to a PDF. This link will appear as a button. Click the Select media button to open the Media Library. Search the Media Library for the piece of media you wish to link to and click the name of the media to add the link.
Button - text: This is the text that appears on the live site.
Buttons should have meaningful text. Buttons with text such as "read more" or "click here" are not descriptive enough and can be frustrating for web users. The button should be able to tell users where the link will take them. Try to avoid generic link text and be more descriptive. Using calls to action (action verbs that direct users to take an action) is a great way to encourage users to follow the link. Some examples of meaningful button text/calls to action include:

- Apply now
- Support our cause
Once you have filled in the appropriate fields within the content type, click Save and approve at the bottom of the page to make the content live.
