| Student Leave of Absence
Policy
A leave of absence may be granted in accordance with
Federal Title IV Refund Regulations
. A
Student Status Change Form
must be completed and signed by the student. If however, due to unforeseen circumstances, a student is prevented from completing the Request Form, the institution may grant the student's request for a leave of absence with documentation as for the reason of its decision and then later collect the signed form from the student.
Only one leave of absence can be granted to a student in any 12-month period except as provided in the
Federal Title IV Refund Regulations
and a leave of absence cannot exceed 180 days for any 12-month period. At the end of the requested leave of absence, the student must return or is considered to have withdrawn for financial aid purposes. Please refer to the

Privileges granted to students on leave of absence are as follows:
- The use of library and other learning resources
- Attendance at and participation in classroom activities, excluding laboratories - A student may not sit in for examinations, and will not, under any circumstances, receive credit, including elective credit, for any work done while on leave of absence.
