| Student Withdrawal Process
If you withdraw or are asked to withdraw from EVMS, you must complete a
Student Status Change Form
. You must also obtain an EVMS Clearance Certificate (available in the Office of Student Affairs) and the necessary signatures. Return the form to the Accounts Receivable Office. The date listed on the Student Withdrawal
Request will be your withdrawal date.
You will not be officially withdrawn until notification of your withdrawal is received in Accounts Receivable. Notice to an instructor does not constitute an official request to withdraw from the Medical School. If you withdraw and do not complete the Student Withdrawal Request, your date of withdrawal will be the mid-point of the enrollment period. Depending on when you withdraw, you may be required to repay all or part of the financial aid you received (see
Student Withdrawal Refund Policy).
If you are considering withdrawing, you are encouraged to seek advice from the Associate Dean
for Student Affairs or the Associate Dean for Health Professions, as appropriate. Also note that a
leave of absence is considered a withdrawal and may be more appropriate to your situation. |
