EVMS-Administered Scholarships

EVMS-administered scholarships are awarded to the "neediest" of students and to students who meet specific criteria established by the donor of each scholarship. To determine who are the "neediest", students who wish to be considered for EVMS-administered funds MUST provide parental information on the FAFSA and other required forms by the published deadlines. Aid recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress to be eligible for any form of assistance.

Tuition Assistance Grant Program

EVMS students benefit from the state-funded Tuition Assistance Grant Program (TAGP). This program provides grants to students in degree programs to help offset the costs of a private versus a public education. All recipients must meet the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) and Commonwealth of Virginia residency requirements.

A student may only receive TAGP for four years of graduate and/or professional study and four years of undergraduate study even if one or more years are to be repeated. Those enrolled in programs leading to a second bachelor’s, master’s or professional degree are not eligible to receive awards. Students not paying full tuition are ineligible to receive any TAGP funds during that period and those students receiving full tuition scholarships are also ineligible to receive TAGP awards.

Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid or can be downloaded here PDF. Applications must be returned to the Office of Financial Aid by July 31.
