2007/08 Application Process for

Art Therapy, Biomedicine, Biomedicine-Research, Medical Doctor, and Physician Assistant Students

In order to receive financial aid, students must:

• Complete the 2007/08 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 15, 2006.
  • To apply online, you must have a Personal Identification Number (PIN). It takes three days to receive it electronically or seven to ten days to receive it in the U.S. Mail.
  • Enter the EVMS School Code: 010338.
  • DO NOT leave any fields blank.
  • DO NOT use estimates. Complete the 2006 IRS 1040 tax form before completing the FAFSA.
  • Complete ONLY the student section if you wish to ONLY be considered for federal Stafford loans. Complete the student and parent sections if you wish to be considered for federal Stafford loans and EVMS-administered low interest loans and scholarships.
• Submit the 2007/08 EVMS Financial Aid Application by April 30, 2007.
• Submit a 2006 Non-Filer Statement if you did not/will not file 2006 income taxes.
• Submit a SIGNED copy of your 2006 IRS 1040 tax form only if you are selected for a process called Verification. If you are married and you and your spouse filed separately, submit SIGNED copies of both tax returns.
• Submit a SIGNED copy of your parents' 2006 IRS 1040 tax form if you provided parent information on the FAFSA. If your parents did not file taxes, a 2006 Non-Filer Statement must be submitted by March 15, 2007. If your parents filed a foreign tax return, submit a SIGNED copy of your parents' foreign tax return.
• If you are a Virginia resident and wish to be considered for the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG), submit the VTAG application by April 30, 2007, but no later than July 31, 2007. If you are currently receiving VTAG at EVMS, do not submit the application.
• If you are a M.D./MPH student, submit the 2007/08 MPH Educational Plan by April 30, 2007.
• If you are a Biomedicine - Research student, submit the 2007/08 Biomedicine Research Educational Plan by April 30, 2007.
