11:30 a.m. — Military Commissioning Ceremony - Aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin.

6:00 p.m. — Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society Banquet - More information forthcoming. By invitation only.

Friday, May 18, 2012

10:00 a.m. to noon — Commencement Rehearsal - Exhibition Hall, Norfolk Scope. Required for all graduates and marshals. Pick up caps and gowns.

2:00 to 5 p.m. — Surgical Assistant Graduation Ceremony - Brickhouse Auditorium, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

4:30 to 5:30 p.m. — Physician Assistant White Coat & Awards Ceremony - Norfolk Waterside Marriott, 4th Floor, Marriott Ballroom.

5:30 to 7:30 p.m. — School of Health Professions Class of 2012 Reception - Norfolk Waterside Marriott, 3rd Floor, Hampton Ballroom. By invitation only. Ticket required.

6:30 to 9:30 p.m. — MD Class of 2012 Banquet - Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel. By invitation only. Reception begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. NOTE NEW LOCATION.

Commencement - Norfolk Scope - 201 E. Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, Va.

8:00 a.m. - Exhibition Hall doors open for ceremony participants.

8:30 a.m. - All graduates must check in for robing at Norfolk Scope Exhibition Hall. Traffic through tunnels and on the interstate could be bad - please plan accordingly. Please eat before you arrive as there are no refreshments available.

8:30 a.m. - Walk-through for clinical embryology students.

8:45 a.m. - Arena doors open for family, friends and guests (general admission).

10:00 a.m. - Processional begins promptly at 10:00 a.m.

12:00 noon (est.) - Graduates return to Exhibition Hall for class photographs, returning regalia and/or picking up MD awards not received previously.

Notes:

• Non-graduating students are welcome to attend the ceremony and sit in the general audience seating.
• No seat-saving will be permitted. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
• Staff will be available in the Norfolk Scope lobby to direct participants to the assembly areas.
