Security Alerts: Pedestrian Safety
With the change in traffic patterns due
to the construction on the Brambleton Avenue bridge (the bridge that
crosses the Hague), the EVMS Campus Security would like to remind
everyone of the following pedestrian safety tips:
Follow these steps for safer walking:
- Watch out for turning motorists.
- Use crosswalks when available.
- Look left, right, and left again
before crossing the street.
- Constantly look while crossing any
street or intersection. Drivers don't always obey signals.
- Establish eye contact with
drivers.
- Walk against traffic on roads with
no sidewalks.
- Wear bright clothes when walking
or jogging in poor light.
