    • Cheryl Shiflett, PhD, LPC-ACS, ATR-BC, ATCS is a registered, board-certified art therapist and licensed professional counselor. She is a member of the community faculty and teaches Group Counseling and Psychotherapy, Child Counseling and Psychotherapy Skills, and co-leads Clinical Case Conferences.

      She graduated with a BS and MS in Psychology from Old Dominion University, an MS in Art Therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Shiflett has experience working with children who have witnessed domestic violence and children with developmental disabilities.

      Her academic and research interests include autism spectrum disorder, pedagogy and clinical supervision.
