IPA for Single-cell RNAseq Data Analysis

RNAseq methodologies is a quantitative evolution of the basic hybridization based gene expression array (such as Affymetrix®) and allows for determination of individual transcript frequency. Cautionary to this sophistication is the need to avoid a focus on rare transcripts and as such, a discussion with the investigator is warranted to agree on a level of sensitivity appropriate for the analysis of their experimental system. Depending on whether the data is derived from mixed cell populations, tissue culture cells or single cells, the results will show an in-depth network analysis and potentially expression-informed single cell “flow cytometric” approaches. The latter requires a separate consultation in design and analysis approach appropriate to each design.
