Faculty and Staff members from the Leroy T. Canoles Jr., Cancer Research Center worked as volunteers at the Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation's 11th annual Wine, Women and Fishing Tournament in Virginia Beach August 17th and 18th. Michelle Hammer, Mary Ann Clements, Brian Main, Kaitlyn Helsly, Cody Phelps, Dr. Amy Tang, Dr. Richard Britten, and EVMS Accounts Receivable Clerk, Susan Main joined other EVMS Students and Staff to perform a variety of jobs during the two day event ranging from selling raffle tickets and event themed swag to serving food. The organizers were very pleased with the number of volunteers participating in the event. This years tournament was a great success and gave many of the guests an opportunity to meet the often "behind the scenes" cancer researchers. One of the most colorful annual events held by the Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation, Wine, Women and Fishing (WWF) has raised more than $240,000 for breast cancer research at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
