About the Glennan Center for Geriatrics
The mission of the Glennan Center is to integrate, coordinate and disseminate age-related endeavors at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in order to accomplish its ultimate goals: to promote the health, well-being, independence, and quality of life of older adults; and to enhance the knowledge base and standards of practice in geriatrics and gerontology, through clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy on behalf of older adults and their caregivers.

The Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology also focuses on prevention and intervention research involving age-related conditions. By applying our research findings to the chronic disabilities of aging, the Glennan Center will help older patients maintain as high a degree as possible of function, and independence, and avoid unnecessary and costly institutionalization.
