Five subspecialty divisions within the department provide state-of-the-art consultation and outpatient care for patients with specific medical problems, including infectious disease, sleep disorders and diabetes.

The division of internal medicine also specializes in primary care, general health assessments, and consultation for complex medical problems. Our residency programs are structured to work closely with faculty and staff within each division, conducting research and preparing our students to enter a career in internal medicine or to proceed to advanced training in a subspecialty.

With the mission to improve the health of the patients we serve, the Department of Internal Medicine recruits and retains the best physicians and staff, pursues the highest quality of care, provides extraordinary patient services and promotes a culture of innovation.
