Environmental Health & Safety

Environmental Health & Safety provides assistance to faculty and staff working with hazardous materials. Potentially hazardous materials include biological and infectious organisms, hazardous chemicals, and radioactive materials. EVMS possesses applicable federal, state, and local licenses and permits to use and dispose of these materials. Compliance with regulations issued by these agencies is accomplished through training courses, laboratory evaluations and record-keeping functions.

In the event of a chemical, biological, or radiological spill, go directly to the Emergency page or call 446-5798 or after hours call 446-5199 (Security).

Forms required to obtain Authorized or Qualified User Status, a Film Badge, Chemical or Radioactive Waste pick-ups or register for a course are available on the EVMS intranet. Go to the form, open it and type in the requested information then click on SUBMIT. If you have difficulty, please call the EH&S office at 446-5798.

The Chemical Morgue List is available through the EH&S Intranet site.
