Bryan Fine, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at EVMS and Pediatric Hospitalist at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, was a guest this week on “HearSay with Cathy Lewis,” which airs on 89.5 WHRV-FM.

With the open-enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act starting this week, Dr. Fine addressed healthcare affordability and why physicians need to understand the burden that families might endure as the result of decisions doctors make. During his interview, he noted that he teaches EVMS residents and students to talk with families about insurance coverage and the affordability of treatments and prescriptions, “so that it becomes more of their normal.”

In this Nov. 1 podcast, Dr. Fine’s interview begins at the 37-minute mark.
