Faculty Bites

Creating a positive environment for professional growth is an important part of the EVMS community. That’s why the leadership with Faculty Affairs & Professional Development has found a way to make continuing education easily available.

Working with faculty members, they created more than a dozen video tutorials on topics related to learning called Faculty Development Bites. They are 15-30 minute videos that provide helpful instruction on topics including, assessment, mentoring, team-based learning, effective communication and time management. CME credit is available for each topic.

"These Professional Development Bites have been created to fit with busy schedules,” says Elza Mylona, PhD, Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs & Professional Development. “Short, pertinent information delivered online and lasting 15 minutes to create opportunities for paced professional development on topics relevant to our faculty."

Each Faculty Development Bite is accompanied by a page describing the presenter, learning objectives and resources associated with the topic.

“We know our faculty are always striving to learn more and we want to give them every opportunity possible to do so,” says Judith Taylor-Fishwick, Faculty Affairs & Professional Development Associate Director. “We are continuing to expand the program and we welcome any new ideas.”
