Neuropsychology Center
Techniques Used
Primary assessment tools used in the
Neuropsychology Center include the Halstead-Reitan Battery and its
allied procedures, as well as other recognized measures of cognitive
functioning. This testing typically requires about six hours and
involves a wide range of adaptive behavior which depend upon the brain's
integrity.
This testing directly evaluates behavioral
functioning and makes inferences about cerebral integrity and is an
adjunct to (not a substitute for) neurological examination and medical
evaluation procedures. Since it can generate a detailed description of
strengths and deficits, it is valuable as a comparison against
pre-morbid functioning, a predictor of future recovery, and a planning
tool for remediation. |
