Suspicious Mail Package PolicyMail Package Policy.pdf On Tuesday, June 27, 2011, at approximately 12:05 am a bicycle was stolen outside of the Brickell Library. The bicycle is a yellow Schwinn with high handle bars, chrome fenders and a black seat that states "HEAVY DUTY" on it. If seen or please contact Police and Public Safety immediately. Students and staff are also reminded to report any suspicious activity to Police and Public Safety (757) 446-5199 immediately and reminded to secure all personal belongings. On Monday, June 13, 2011, at approximately 2:00 p.m. a bicycle was stolen from the Hague Club Apartments. A maroon vehicle was observed parking on Dundaff St. and the driver and passenger walked into the parking lot. The driver returned to the vehicle a few minutes later and the passenger was seen riding a light blue beach cruiser from the apartment complex going north on Stockley Gardens . Students, staff and faculty are reminded to secure bicycles appropriately.
On Wednesday May 11, 2011, a visitor signed in at the Brickell Atrium Desk and entered the Library. This visitor was observed by a student going through a backpack left unattended by another student. The student questioned the visitor who then left the building and did not take anything from the backpack. EVMS Police and Public Safety responded after being notified by the witness and owner of the backpack.
On Friday May 13, 2011, another visitor signed in and entered Brickell Library. This person was seen in the area where a student left a laptop unattended. When the student returned to the area, the laptop was gone. The visitor was seen leaving the area and the incident was reported to EVMS by the owner of the laptop shortly after he discovered it was missing. Police and Public Safety are investigating both incidents. Students are reminded that during business hours the Brickell Library is open to the public. Students should use precautions to safeguard their personal property and not leave anything unattended. Students are also reminded to report any suspicious activity and/or persons immediately to EVMS Police and Public Safety at 446-5911 or 446-5199.
