
Curriculum
During the first year, each incoming
resident is paired with a senior resident with whom he will rotate during the
year. The schedule is as follows:

Second Year Schedule is as follows:
- 3 months Retina
- 2 months Cornea
- 6 months Pediatrics, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Plastics,
Pathology
- 1 month coverage of first-years while at Basic Science
Course in Houston, TX
Each resident will rotate six months at
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and six months at the VA Medical Center, Hampton. The Sentara
resident will function as chief resident. Each third-year resident will be paired
with an incoming first-year with whom he will rotate for the year. The rotation
schedule is as above for the first-year residents with the exception of attending the
basic science course in Houston.
