Course Description: Experience in urogynecology in an office and hospital setting. Hands-on experience in the operating room in a supervised setting. Management of outpatient urodynamic testing and other evaluations pertinent to the patient with urinary incontinence.
Distribution of Student’s Effort: Patient Contact: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient; 30-40 hrs/wk faculty contact; 12 hrs/wk surgery.
Objectives:
1. Basic knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of female incontinence and related issues.
2. Basic knowledge in operative techniques including cystoscopy.
3. Improve ability to perform pelvic exams in an office setting.
4. Basic knowledge of urodynamic testing.
Evaluation: 35% oral exam/case presentation; 65% clinical observation.
