Fourth-Year Medical Student Clerkships:

Student Perspectives

The OB/GYN rotation is a wonderful rotation. The course directors, attendings, and residents take an active role in teaching. The course director (Dr. Sayegh) takes a lot of time out of the week for didactic sessions that are effective preparing us for the day to day aspects on the wards or in the office. This is the perhaps the most organized rotation of the third year at EVMS!

Anthony Choi, MS III

The clerkship was interesting; it gave me insight into some of the ups and downs that make up high-risk obstetrics. I had days when I went home crying and others smiling; I learned how difficult it is to communicate bad news, and I improved my skills. Overall, the rotation was an excellent experience, and the ultrasound techs and genetics counseling staff are excellent.

Jacqualynne McFarlance, MS IV (right)
The OB/GYN didactics are so thorough and informative - the best we have had in three years; they are awesome! The lectures brought everyone up to speed by putting all of us on the same page.

Stacey Lettis, MS III
