Fourth-Year Medical Student Clerkships

Thinking of applying to EVMS for your residency in obstetrics and gynecology?

If you are interested in our program, consider applying for one of the M4 Electives in the Department of OB-GYN.

We offer both hospital-based and out-patient experiences in all aspects of OB/GYN, including the subspecialties. All of our electives will allow you to work one-on-one with our attendings and residents to provide you with a closer in-depth look at the EVMS program.

The electives can be offered almost any time of year, as the schedules are not strictly established. Current EVMS students have priority, and they fill on a first-come, first-served basis. The full elective is four weeks long, but exceptions can be made for two weeks of credit if this works better with your schedule. You can apply after May 1 for the following academic year. Descriptions of the electives are listed in the adjacent menu. You can obtain a complete catalogue for EVMS M4 Electives directly from Charlene Jones in Student Affairs.

Final approval and acceptance for the electives will be determined by Sue K. Sayegh, M.D., the M3 Clerkship Coordinator. You also can contact Ms. Lamika Lewis, Assistant to the Clerkship Coordinator, at 757-446-7912 if you have specific questions or concerns. We look forward to sharing our exciting elective experience with you.
