EVMS among top 20 in terms of primary care grads

EVMS is among the top 20 schools in the nation when it comes to the percentage of MD graduates who practice primary care.
EVMS was number 16 on the list, according to data published recently in the Journal of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Primary care physcians are the front line of medical care in the United States. They are typically the first contact for a patient with an undiagnosed health concern, a continuing source of care and coordinator of any specialty care the individual may need. Primary care physicians are in great demand nationwide, especially with the surge in newly insured patients expected as result of health care reform.
