Dr. Robert Archer is President-Elect of national organization

Robert Archer, PhD, Redwood Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, has been chosen as President-Elect of the Society for Personality Assessment (SPA).
Dr. Archer is currently a representative at large on the SPA board. He will begin his two-year term as President-Elect in September 2015 and will serve as SPA President from 2017 to 2019.
A 33-year veteran of the EVMS faculty, Dr. Archer is an expert in psychological assessment, especially among adolescents. He has won national and international recognition for his expertise and research advancements in the field. He has authored more than 150 journal articles and 30 book chapters and has served as author of editor of 15 books.
Dr. Archer helped develop the most popular personality test series in the U.S. and is a 27-year member of the editorial board of the Journal of Personality Assessment.
As he prepares for his leadership role with SPA, Dr. Archer says he plans to encourage student interest in the field, foster personality assessment research and advocate for a range of issues, including strengthening affiliations with other mental health and interdisciplinary U.S. and international organizations that support personality assessment.
