Typical Resident Schedule

PGY-1
Inpatient Medicine 7 months split between SNGH and VAMC; includes 1 month ICU for categorical
Emergency Room 1 month at SLH
Ambulatory Care 2-3 months
Electives 2-3 months
PGY-2
General Medicine 3 or 4 months, split between SNGH and VAMC
Intensive Care Unit 1 month
Day Float 1 month
Night Float 1-month block at VA
Geriatrics 1 month
Electives 3 or 4 months
PGY-3
Inpatient Medicine 3 months split between SNGH and VAMC
Night Float 1 month in 2-week blocks at different times of the year at VAMC
Intensive Care Unit 1 month at SNGH
Advanced Ambulatory 1 month
Electives 6 months
