The Mission of the Internal Medicine Office for the
Promotion of Excellence in Research and Academia is to initiate, support
and promote scientific, educational and clinical scholarship through
faculty development and provision of core services related to scholarly
activity.
All Internal Medicine faculty, fellows,
and residents are encouraged to utilize OPERA as a resource for their
academic activities. OPERA is supported by the department, and most
services are free. In circumstances where OPERA is not equipped to
provide the needed technical assistance, it will assist in making
connections to the larger EVMS community and beyond.
Beyond specific services to individuals,
OPERA provides ongoing faculty development opportunities through
lectures, mentoring, and the provision of resource materials.
