  • All applications to our residency programs must be submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).  Deadline for submission is December 31, 2009.
  • The selection process stringently evaluates performance on USMLE examinations, grades in preclinical and clinical courses, dean’s letter, letters of recommendation (3), communication skills and personal attributes.
  • Minimum score 200 or above on USMLE Step 1 and 2 on first attempt. Must pass USMLE CS on first attempt.
  • For osteopathic students, must pass National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME/COMLEX).
  • Strongly prefer graduation from medical school within five years.
  • Strongly prefer completion of at least 12 months hands-on clinical experience in the United States.
  • International graduates: ECFMG certification required, CSA and other required tests taken and passed. Our Residency Program sponsors J-1 visas.


Interview Dates:

Interviews are conducted on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Nov 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 30

Dec 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18

Jan 6, 11, 20, 25


Interview Day: The interview day begins at 7:30am in the Hofheimer Hall Library on the 4th floor.  Dinner with the residents occurs the night prior to the interview.


Directions to Hofheimer Hall Library from Central Visitor Parking:

Take the garage elevators down to the first floor.  Exit the glass double doors.  Directly in front of you is SNGH.  Directly to the left of the hospital is Hofheimer Hall.  Take the elevators up to the 4th floor of Hofheimer Hall.  Look for the sign indicating the Academic offices (Suite 410) and proceed straight back to the library, which will be on your right.  Don’t forget to bring your parking ticket to be validated.
