Frequently Asked Questions
If I
plan to take the
MCAT in April and the application deadline is April 1, will I still be considered for the program in the Fall Semester?
When
your MCAT scores are received, the application will be evaluated and
you will compete for slots from our waitlist.

What is the length of time that a MCAT score is accepted?
There
is no set length of time for your MCAT score to be accepted in our
program. However, scores significantly older than two years are not as
competitive, and more significantly, you will not be able to use the
score for your application to many medical schools, including EVMS.

Is an interview required before a final decision is made?
No, an interview is not required. However, if you would like to talk to someone about your individual credentials, the Program Director,
Dr. Donald Meyer, would be happy to hear from you.

If I get accepted into the program and graduate, am I guaranteed placement in the medical school for the next year?
No, we cannot promise that you will be accepted at our medical school. However, in the last five (5) years of the program, approximately
85 percent of all graduates are accepted into a medical school.

Is
the April 1 deadline a definite due date or will you accept
applications after that date?
No, the April 1 deadline is definite and we do not accept applications after that date.

If I am on a waiting list for the medical school and decide to transfer to the Biomedical Sciences Masters (Medical Masters) Program, what do I need to do?
You
will need to:
- notify the medical school in writing that you would like your records,
including references, transferred to the Biomedical Sciences Masters (Medical Masters)
Program
- complete the Biomedical Sciences Masters (Medical Masters) application
online and submit it with your $60 application fee (Note: If we do not receive your application or the $60 application fee, your application will not be reviewed by the
Admissions
Committee)
- request your official transcripts from all colleges or universities that you have
attended
When your application is complete for the Biomedical Sciences Masters (Medical Masters) Program, it will be reviewed by the
Admissions Committee.

How long does it take to find out if you have been accepted or not accepted?
Once your application is complete, it is reviewed within several weeks by the
Admissions Committee. We currently accept approximately
20 students into the program.
