Epidemiology-Biostatistics Research Support

Goals

Create a central resource for epidemiology and biostatistics with at least four doctoral faculty.
Provide consultant services in epidemiology and biostatistics for faculty, residents, and students in medicine and the health professions.
Define appropriate faculty and staff involvement with the National Center for Collaboration in Medical Modeling and Simulation.
Increase the number of EVMS clinicians and basic science faculty conducting research by mentoring them in the development of research proposals and grant applications.
Provide education in epidemiology and biostatistics for faculty, residents, and students in medicine and the health professions.
Begin developing the foundation for a doctoral-level training program in Epidemiology that will provide personnel skilled in epidemiological research.
Explore the possibility of developing a master's and/or doctoral program in Bioinformatics.
Evaluate and report the accomplishments of the Epi-Bio Research Support, including recommendations for expanding the faculty or adding support staff to meet projected needs.
