Generally, there are three ways to pay for services.

  • By direct support of named individuals on received or submitted grants.
  • Through our Fee-for-Service Schedule that is comparable to other academic medical centers.
  • Through institutional core support (primarily for teaching courses that encompass the majority of a semester or trimester), provided that the expenditures have been approved by the appropriate school officials. The mechanism used to provide support will not alter the collaborative services performed. Similarly, authorship on abstracts and papers for listing Epi-Bio Research Support faculty or staff as authors should depend solely upon their contribution to the project and not on the support mechanism.

Time and effort for each activity will be estimated at the beginning of the project, and then converted to an actual cost based on time and effort logged by the designated faculty or staff. Unless otherwise specified, all services will be consolidated and billed quarterly by Epi-Bio Research Support.

* Rates are comparable to those posted at a number of U.S. academic health centers, including Indiana University, the Medical College of Wisconsin, University of Iowa College of Public Health, University of Kentucky School of Public Health, Washington University School of Medicine, University of Florida, and the University of Rochester.
