Class of 2010

I liked the program because of their solid foundation in academics.  I learned from attending's different styles and approaches to patients.  I am happy to say that the Portsmouth Family Medicine Program gave me the key to my medical future. Thanks Alex Antonenko, MD

I'm coming to the end of my second week of being in the "real world" and now that I've gotten over the shock of a new EMR - I'm so excited about what I am doing!  I wanted to express a big THANK YOU for training me so well and for helping me get to this point in my life.  I love where I'm at, but I miss all of you as well!               Arlene McCain, MD

Class of 2008

The training I received at PFM was wide in breath and has left me well prepared to take care of patients. I currently work as a traditional family practitioner who admits to a local hospital and cares for nursing home patients. During my free time I pick up a few shifts in the ER. My training at PFM has also allowed me to become a leader for my hospital's medical staff. Donald Bowling, MD, MT, DABFM; Vice Chief of Staff, Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, VA

It's been my good fortune to train at Portsmouth Family Medicine - both for the education I received and the friends I made in the program and community. The staff of PFM continue to be my role models for their knowledge, ethics, and compassion. I would not be a hospitalist today without the strong training I received, nor medical director of a hospitalist group without their guidance, direction and support - especially in the formative years of residency. It is impossible for me to fully express my gratitude. Peter Paik, MD

"Truly one of the best educational experiences. Great clinical learning in a fun and positive environment. I came out with wonderful residency training and qualified to apply to different positions from traditional, urgent care, academics and hospital medicine."
