Federal methodology requires that all need determinations be based on a single student budget. If you demonstrate extenuating circumstances, requests for budget increases will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

A 9-month enrollment period is reflected for years 1 and 2. A 12 month enrollment period is reflected for year 3.  An 11-month enrollment period is reflected for year 4.

**Step 1 Exam fee is added to year 2. Step 2CK and CS exam fees are added to year 3. Travel expenses associated with Step 2CS are added to year 4.

The above standard student budget establishes a limit on the financial aid that an M.D. student is allowed to receive in compliance with federal regulations. Students are encouraged to seek assistance, if needed, to help prepare a budget plan.

Effective 04/14/2008, the Federal Aggregate Stafford Limits is a combined total of $224,000.
