Objectives
Upon completion of this
program, the participant will be able to describe the clinical
presentation of selected disorders seen in family practice, identify
the family physician’s role in managing these disorders, discuss
recent advances in diagnosis and treatment, outline a diagnostic/
therapeutic plan, identify preventive strategies, and review his/her
knowledge of important topics in family practice. Much of the content
of this course is based on input from previous participants.

Who
Should Attend
This course has been
developed for the family physician seeking a review and update of
his/her clinical knowledge. Other primary-care providers such as
general practitioners, general internists, pediatricians, nurse
practitioners, and physician assistants will also benefit. Residents
and medical students are also invited to attend. The course will be
of value to family physicians preparing to take the certification or
re-certification examination of the American Board of Family
Practice, but is not configured to be a comprehensive board review
program.
