Procedure Clinics

Procedure clinics are held several times each month in our minor surgery suite. Residents work one-on-one with PFM faculty. Residents also schedule procedures during their normal office hours and get an intensive experience with procedures during their office month in the second year. PFM residents and faculty also teach a yearly procedure workshop for students in the Family Medicine Interest Group at EVMS.

Outpatient Procedures

  • Minor surgery including, skin lesion removal and biopsies
  • Office orthopedics (splinting, joint injections)
  • Colposcopy and biopsy
  • Endometrial biopsy
  • Norplant and IUD insertion/removal
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • Vasectomy (no-scalpel and traditional)
  • Hemorrhoid treatment
  • Cardiac stress testing
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Tympanometry and audiometry
  • Indirect laryngoscopy
  • Cryosurgery
  • Laceration repair
