Life as a Third Year
By this time, you're spending four to
five half days a week at
the family practice center and finding more emphasis placed on learning the business
aspects of medical practice. You'll even get an opportunity to attend an
intensive week-long practice management course.
Some of your mandatory rotations are
Neurology, ENT, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology/Urology, all done under the supervision of
that strong base of committed community physicians. You'll also have one month of
in-patient Family Medicine
as the senior resident.

You also have your choice of
elective months that can include:
- Adolescent Medicine
- Endocrinology
- Gastroenterology
- Infectious Disease
- Nephrology
- Obstetrics
- Pulmonary Medicine
- Rheumatology
Community involvement opportunities
continue to expand, with emphasis on administrative opportunities being
pursued. There is also lots of flexibility to create your own
electives. Anything you can think of to do, you can do it here -
almost!
