While a medical officer and a department chairman in the Navy, and later while in private practice in Danville, VA, Dr. Lynch initiated a number of innovative programs in urologic oncology. He had a distinguished Navy career, rising to the rank of captain. He was designated as a navy flight surgeon and as a rescue parachutist, and was decorated for both heroism and meritorious performance of duty. He served in both Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. While in Danville, he took an active role in medical staff government, ultimately serving as president of the medical staff and member of the board of directors of the Memorial Hospital of Danville. Dr. Lynch is the author of over eighty scientific articles, reviews, and book chapters, and has taught at local, regional and national meetings. |
