Thank you for taking time to visit the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) Police and Public Safety website. I am extremely proud to be a part of this growing department. EVMS Police and Public Safety is a state-accredited law enforcement agency established to provide the highest degree of safety and security possible for the EVMS community. We currently employ 40 officers (a combination of police officers, public safety officers, and emergency telecommunicators). These officers provide twenty-four, hour round the clock patrol and protection of the campus and immediate surrounding area. We are committed to the prevention of crime and the protection of life and property. Our department is located at 700 West Olney Road on the First Floor of Lewis Hall. We also have a satellite office in the Staff Parking Garage off Fairfax Avenue. The Police and Public Safety Department is responsible for law enforcement, security and emergency response at EVMS. Additionally, we are responsible for providing services to meet the needs of our EVMS community. Some of these services include:
