The Strelitz Diabetes Center sponsors a support group for patients of all ages who are on insulin pumps. Our Insulin Support Group is open to patients of all ages with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, who are on insulin pumps or are interested in learning more about pumps. Family members, spouses, and significant others are welcome.

The purpose of the support group is to provide information on insulin pumps, share experiences and problems concerning pump therapy, and offer suggestions based on sound knowledge and common sense.

One need not be a patient at the Strelitz Diabetes Center to attend the group. Meetings are free of charge. Occasionally, speakers are scheduled to discuss topics of interest.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday evening of the month at 7 p.m. in the Cosmopolitan Education Room at the Strelitz Diabetes Center, EV Williams Hall, 855 W. Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk.

Jean O'Brian, RN, CDE is the coordinator of the program. If you are interested in finding out more about the program, please call her at (757) 446-8478.
