Marie-Laure Névoret completed her medical training in Chicago, Illinois and entered private practice as a general surgeon in Lowell, Massachusetts.  After starting a family, she decided to refocus her attention on the obesity epidemic in the United States.  Dr Névoret completed a dietetic certificate in Boston and worked at a Head Start preschool and a WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) facility to prevent childhood obesity from two fronts: through improved nutrition knowledge and through the promotion of physical activity starting at the preschool age.  She also managed a health and hygiene website for Simmons College in Boston, covering major current public health issues and developing monthly downloadable brochures on topics pertaining to public health.

Dr. Névoret was then fortunate to meet Patricia Barlow and Dr. Aaron Vinik in January of 2010, and was offered a position as a clinical research coordinator at the Strelitz Diabetes Center. With type 2 diabetes quickly becoming a major public health epidemic, Dr Névoret felt that this was a critical area of medicine to enter.  In conjunction with Pat Barlow, she coordinates a team of researchers in the conduct of clinical studies investigating new and innovative treatments for diabetes and diabetic complications (primarily diabetic neuropathy or nerve damage).  She works with human subjects in testing these therapies, monitoring their medical progress during the trial, and compiling the data for the sponsoring company.  She also assists in the coordination of clinical studies developed by Dr. Vinik and conducted exclusively at the Strelitz Diabetes Center.
