It is time again to acknowledge the accomplishments of the faculty of EVMS as we approach the 23rd annual Faculty Achievement Awards competition. Although the celebration of the awards will be held in the fall (date and time to be announced later), the nomination process has been opened. In honor of their outstanding contributions, each awardee will receive a plaque and a stipend at the fall celebration. I hope that each of you will give serious and deliberate consideration to nominating those who are deserving. Nominations are sought this spring from faculty members for the following categories:
ELIGIBILITYAll faculty are eligible for these awards, with the exception of these faculty. Please note that some of the awards are specified only for full-time or community faculty members. NOMINATION PROCEDUREThe online nomination forms linked above should be used. The nominator provides the name, title and department of the nominee and submits these together with an updated curriculum vitae and a nominating letter describing the accomplishments of the nominee. The nominator’s letter and the candidate's CV are the essential documents reviewed by the Awards Committee in selecting the recipients of these awards. Therefore, every effort should be made in the nominator's letter to highlight the nominee's accomplishments, especially those that may not be evident in the nominee's CV. When using the online nomination forms, simply complete the forms and attach a PDF file containing any ancillary information (letters, student evaluations, etc.). DOCUMENTATIONCompletion of the nomination form, including the nominee’s curriculum vitae and the nominator’s letter, shall constitute the required documentation. The submission may also contain up to four one-page letters from colleagues, peers or others in support of the nomination. Nominations for teaching awards should also contain teaching evaluations from students or residents.
