The physicians of the Glennan Center are members of the Department of Internal Medicine. A board-certified geriatrician services as medical director. Clinical support staff includes nurse practitioners and human services counselors.

Memory Assessment Clinic

Many older adults are concerned about forgetfulness. The good news is that we can successfully treat many conditions that cause memory problems, including reactions to medications and vitamin deficiencies.

In the Memory Assessment Clinic, a geriatrician, a neuropsychologist, and a licensed geriatric social worker evaluate the extent of memory loss and look for its cause. They also suggest ways patients and their families can plan for the future. We accept Medicare, Medicaid and most commercial insurance providers. Referral from your primary care physician is recommended.

Palliative Care
The palliative care service offers consultations with patients with serious illness who are at risk of dying or with a uncertain outcome. Consultations require a written order by the attending physician. Services consist of the management of pain and non-pain symptoms, communication with patients and families, and coordination and care planning around goals of care.

The team currently consists of a social worker, physician and nurse available Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and taking calls other times by phone. The team accepts referrals for all services and levels of care but may restrict numbers until staffing can be brought up to clinical demand.

A referral from a patient's physician is necessary for a consultation. Please speak with your physician or nurse or contact your hospital's palliative care coordinator for a referral.
