Therapeutic Brain Stimulation Program Treatment Team
Paul Sayegh, MD Dr. Sayegh is the Co-Director of the Therapeutic Brain Stimulation Program. He is a board certified psychiatrist, Vice Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Assistant Professor, and certified TMS provider. He completed his psychiatry residency training at St. Vincent's Medical Center in New York. In addition to his clinical work with TMS, Dr. Sayegh is also the Residency Training Director. Serina Neumann, PhD Dr. Neumann is the Co-Director of the Therapeutic Brain Stimulation Program. She is a licensed clinical psychologist, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and certified TMS provider. She has expertise in treating mood disorders comorbid with chronic medical illness using cognitive behavioral therapy, stress management, biofeedback, and TMS. Her research program involves investigating psychoneurophysiologic effects of stress on health in adults. Justin Petri, MD Dr. Petri is an affiliated ECT provider in the Therapeutic Brain Stimulation Program and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He also serves as the Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatric Services at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He completed medical school studies and his psychiatry residency training at West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV. His research interests relate to modifiable factors leading to re-hospitalization of patients with severe and persistent mental illness.
