The unit is fully accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, a reflection of the high standard of ultrasound imaging provided. Ten full-time registered diagnostic medical sonographers, and six Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, who provide comprehensive ultrasound examinations, staff the unit. The unit is equipped with the most advanced ultrasound equipment and software including color Doppler machines with 3-D/4-D imaging. The Center for Advanced Fetal Therapy provides prenatal diagnosis and genetics counseling. The ultrasound unit at the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Hofheimer Hall is nationally recognized for providing the highest quality patient care and for contributing to research in obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound.
