The EVMS Strelitz Diabetes Center (SDC) in Norfolk, Virginia, is comprised of an international team of clinical providers, scientists and educators working to find the cure for diabetes and to prevent the debilitating complications of neuropathy and cardiovascular disease. We are committed to improving quality of life for patients with diabetes and other metabolic disorders by developing innovative methods for treatment and diagnosis.

Our Mission

• Improve the quality of life for persons with diabetes and other metabolic and hormone disorders (thyroid, pituitary, adrenal disease, osteoporosis, elevated cholesterol) by assembling an interdisciplinary team of clinical healthcare providers dedicated to excellence in diabetes management.

• Engage in new and innovative research devoted to finding a cure for diabetes and preventing its debilitating complications.

• Educate patients, health professionals and the public about diabetes prevention and treatment.
