This provides residents with an opportunity to work closely with a faculty member in developing a project, which could result in a publication. Residents should choose a project and mentor early in their training and present the outcome in a professional fashion on “Senior Resident Research Day. All projects must contain substantial original investigative work and successful completion is required for graduation.
The Department of Medicine has an Office of Faculty Development dedicated to the development of scholarly activity across the department, which includes residents’ research.
