What is it?

This program was designed to help pay the health insurance premiums of individuals who have been diagnosed with AIDS and may be unable to work within the next year. To qualify for this program, you do not need to qualify for medical assistance (Medicaid) or any other assistance program.

Eligibility Requirements

• Virginia resident
• Documentation of HIV positive diagnosis
• Eligible to continue health insurance to include but not limited to: COBRA, group health, conversion or individuals plans
• Liquid assets (cash, checking and savings accounts, stocks, etc.) under $15,000
• Family income under 200% of poverty guidelines

Documentation Requirements

• Physician Verification form
• Copy of insurance card or a copy of election/enrollment papers
• Copy of most recent pay stub or tax return
