, Associate Professor, received the “Frank M. Yeiser, M.D. Operational Medical Director Award” from the Tidewater Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) Council, August 2006. He also received the Governor's Award for Outstanding Operational Medical Director (OMD) for the Commonwealth of Virginia, Novemeber 2006.

The EVMS EM Residency won the Second Annual Virginia ACEP Emergency Medicine Residency Quiz Bowl Competition, August 1, 2002. They competed against Emergency Medicine residency teams from the Medical College of Virginia, the University of Virginia, and the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. This is the second time in a row our EM residents won this award. The EVMS team consisted of Wendy Curulla, M.D., Jed Sadalla, M.D. and  Michael White, M.D.

McDade Award for Research in Emergency Medical Care (Prehospital Care category) for "Prehospital Solumedrol Administration Lowers Hospital Admission Rate for Moderate to Severe Asthma", Williamsburg, Virginia, July 2002.

Sue Love, M.D., Assistant Professor, was inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, October 2001.
