Continuing Medical Education Credits

As a medically related advanced degree, the master's in Medical and Health Professions Education qualifies for 25 Direct AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  To claim these credits, you must provide a copy of your diploma or final transcript directly to the AMA on your AMA PRA certificate application, or apply to the AMA for an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ certificate specific to that activity.

Physician Assistants:  The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) accepts CME Category 1 as long as our online Master of Science in Medical and Health Professions Education is certified by one of the four sponsors (AAPA, AOA, AMA, AAFP).

You must verify with the sponsor of your choice that our online Master of Science in Medical and Health Professions Education (MHPE) is recognized for CME credits.

Some state licensing boards do not recognize the AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM Certificate as equivalent for purposes of licensure.  Please contact your state licensing board for more information.

To obtain an application (print or online) for AMA PRA direct credit activities, visit the AMA-ASSN website.
